SURPRISE

We had a great weekend filled two little surprises. We are putting in the sewer line so once again we have a tractor here (my boys are having the time of there life!) We went and picked it up on Saturday and afterwards I went to the store and when I got home I could hear one of my goats making a "I'm having a baby" noise if you've ever heard it you know what I mean. This really surprised me because no one looked ready to have babies but sure enough there in the barn was my Suzy goat just minutes away from popping a baby out! So the boys I gathered in there to watch and quickly throw extra straw in. She had a beautiful doe first and then a tiny little buck afterwards which she didn't seem to realize she had since she was standing and he dropped to the ground with me kinda catching him poor little guy. I waited to see if she was going to notice him but she was to busy with her first baby so we put him up by his mom and started to peel some stuff off his nose at least so he could breathe while trying to get mom to notice him. She finally did and got them both cleaned off. We helped dry them with a towel because it is freezing out. Poor little guys I will probably not have babies this time of year again brrr....just glad we were working outside this weekend or I probably would've been cuddling with a blanket in the house and who knows what would've happened timing is a funny thing! They are both doing great with two little boys worrying over there every move and checking on them constantly.. There very worried because that little girl is following her mom everywhere and is already venturing out with the big goats but no one seems to mind. Brendon wants to just keep them in the house with him LOL I love that my boys get these life experiences it's just great!

We got the sewer line in now after hand digging 20 feet of it looking for our propane line and of course if we would've dug one more foot with the tractor we would've found it!!! Oh well!! I can only say that cause I didn't dig much Hayden helped his dad all day we are so proud of him he is SUCH a hard worker. He's dad was beaming with pride all day. Both of them have a little sore throat though this morning and I am hoping it is just from being outside all day yesterday.

Never a Dull Moment...

Well There is never a dull moment around the Rogers Household these days. It started with Tuesday night......(imagine here the music that goes do do do do do do do as someone remembers back LOL) I went to take my bath and realized the toilet wouldn't flush so I yelled for Stevan and he informed me it wasn't going to in one day our septic decided it wasn't going to take any more crap literally. We had been planning on doing our septic system after taxes because as of right now we have a super small system and it has to be bigger before we can add on. Well I guess we're doing it sooner than we planned. Pete our wonderful family friend and also very talented plumber and excavationer!! YES!!! Just what we needed THANK YOU PETE!! AND BETTY!!! had a give a little shout out there! anyway Pete came and pumped our tank on Wednesday so we can at least flush. cause that is really a helpful thing to be able to do! Stevan's boss is letting Stevan bring his huge Track ho here for the weekend to set these tanks and is supplying all the gravel and any supplies we may need. He even offered to buy the tanks for us which are a none to cheap $7135 Yeah pick up your jaw up off the floor! But I am so so so so thankful for all the help we are getting because otherwise this bill would be sitting somewheres around $15000 so let's be grateful! We felt that was just to much for him to do though I had to force myself to say no LOL So today is the big day of deliveries and all morning the boys have been saying Pete is coming over we get to see Pete today and dad's bringing home his track ho as they dance around. There just a little excited! Whenever Pete comes over for anything they both sit in the window just waiting.. they sure love him I don't blame them he is a GREAT guy!

As if things weren't exciting enough....(music comes in again) I am always trying to win something on the radio cause it's exciting and really cool stuff and FREE!! Try as I may though I'm never the right caller but I just keep trying. Yesterday it paid off..I was doing the dishes and I heard the Q to call but I didn't hear what it was for and I thought whatever I never get through anyway and then I thought what the heck I'll try so I ran and called ..busy called again...busy then called one more time and was met with a ring...and when she answered I was the 9th caller let me tell you I freaked I was so excited!!!! still am! Well turned out I won tickets to see Blue County (they sing that song Good little girls make some mighty wild women) love that song by the way and there playing at Shorty's Saloon in Boise. I was so excited until I figured out it was Friday today when were doing all this drain field stuff BUMMER and it starts at 9:30 so Stevan didn't' want to be out that late cause we have to be able to think tomorrow and he's right ....BUT IT STILL SUCKS LOL oh well at least I won so now I am trying to find someone to give them to I have a few ideas we'll see.

Well that sums up the excitement around here I'll take pics and post our new drain field project soon.

Everything turned out great and I still have about 8 more things I want to bake. This session lasted from 1:00-7:00 we were all very done cooking by then and my kitchen looked like a bomb went off OH WELL! it was worth it!

life on the farm

It's been a busy day already....My little dog Missy really needs to grow because she keep squeezing through the fence to our not so nice neighbor who will not hesitate to shoot her...so this morning I got to put new wire up the fence. Then it is getting very cold at night so I had to restock straw and bed everyone. Breeding season is done I hope so I moved all my girls to one pen and all the boys to another. That is a stinky job for anyone who has ever had the pleasure of smelling a buck in rut you know what I am talking about (pee yewww!!!) So glad to get all that done...Winter is never so fun to have animals.

We put up the Christmas tree on Saturday and my boys lovingly decorated it so all my ornaments are in one spot it's perfect though through my mom eyes. I think we will make paper chains today. Those are always fun. I had bought Frost the snowman ornaments to make but I need a hot glue gun to make them so I'll have to add that to my wish list..(that's getting pretty long now ) We have all our cookie ingredients so we will start that adventure soon. I gave the boys one of my cookie cook books and let then each pick out a recipe they want to make it was so cute they were in there room deciding for about a half hour. And of course they both picked tricky ones but i do love a cooking challenge..I am going to try to make gingerbread men this year I'm very excited!

We had my friend Sara over for cards last night that is always a blast and she gave me Amish Friendship bread oh my gosh good!!! Some of you will be getting that for a Christmas Present! Other than that we're almost done with Basketball we have our last practice today and then wed and sat we have tournament games. That should be fun to watch Hayden has really enjoyed basketball and I am have to but am so so glad to get some peace from running all the time. I guess they can do wresting now at his age but I just need a break we all do I think!

$10 later.......

Well my friend Heather and I are in the process of finding every little way that we can save money. I really wanted and needed a hair cut and color but was really battling myself about spending $65 + on my hair...so my wonderful Heather had just gotten her hair cut and colored it herself at home so what the heck I went for it I met my hair consultant Heather in our local Albertson's picked a color and I think it turned out pretty good. it will lighten up a bit and then I uped it one by having my neighbor Kaitlyn cut it as well HA HA so I got my new look for only $10 and you can't beat that! feels great to save every penny! Oh yeah and there are my cupboards I painted with Kaitlyn's help also what would I do without my friends!

Well I have lots to do today but wanted to bring this up to date. I am painting the kitchen !!!! HURRAYY and having fun doing it except when I have to freak out every few minutes reminding 2 very hyper boys to get out and don't hit my drawers. Other than that is went smooth. We had our first 4-H meeting last night it went well after a few meeting place mishaps... we seem to have a great little group of kids and I think it will be a fun year.
When we got home I got the boys to bed and had to take a moment to lay down by my little
Brendon and watch him fall to sleep he is slipping out of my hands and growing into a big boy and it makes you think about what is important I really only have a few little years with my boys and they are such a precious gift that I far to often take for granted. I want nothing more in life than to be a mom. As I watched Brendon fall asleep with his duck that sings wrapped in his arms singing him to sleep I couldn't help but see my little baby laying there and just get wrapped in the moment carrying me back to having my little babies. I miss that and wish I could have more. Maybe some day but I'm not counting on it. They truly are little miracles and precious gifts that come into our life. And I'm grateful for the moments you catch a glimpse of that baby inside that growing and changing little person you love so much! Life gets far to busy sometimes. As I finally peeled myself away from my sleeping angel I peeked up at my other one crashed out from a full day of fun. I can't believe he can read and write and count and do all this
things that just amaze me. At the same time I am so Proud of the person he is becoming. LOL I have a good character test for Hayden the other day that happened on accident. hayden came into the kitchen to inform me and show me teeth marks in his arm and that Brendon had bit him. After thinking for a moment I said well go bite him back so he said okay and ran in there and I hear them wrestling and Brendon scream and then Hayden is back crying I said what's the matter he said I can't do it mom I just can't hurt my little brother I love him to much. I was so proud of him we had to have a group hug and a firm talk with Brendon about not biting and how lucky he is to have a great big brother. I sure love those boys!

A great weekend

We had a wonderful weekend. We have been working on finisihing the bathroom and had planned on finishing it this weekend at least to primer but instead I had my brother Gus over and we played, dug up some trees and did yard work. Stevan's mom and brother Richie came over Saturday to watch Hayden's basketball game. They also brought the boys a new basketball hoop so now they have one of there own, a new basketball, and two new outfits which are really cute. Brendon informed us after trying his on that he looks awesome! LOL We went and watched the game then went out to eat at La Costa. YUM!! Then came home and watched the BSU Game which they kicked BUTT in !!! whoohoo go BSU!! We had a quiet night and it was nice I went to bed very early which was amazing!!

The next day marked 7 years of us being together I don't know where the time went it still seems like yesterday! I sure love that man! He watched the boys while I went and had a wonderful long over due lunch with my best friend Sara! We went to smoky mountain pizza and had a great time we had 1 1/2 nice big beers to wash down our salad, appetizer of these little breads with spinach and artichoke dip which we both agreed we have to figure out how to make, followed by an amazing shrimp penne pasta dish that we split and of course a piece of mile high cheesecake. Nothing like a great food with a great friend!

When I got home we were playing basketball when I got slammed in the face right on the nose with the ball from Stevan OWWW!! and was immediately crying and he is holding me saying i'm so sorry I'm so sorry!! oh my GOSHH!! needless to say I got babied all night it was great and I was pretty certain I was going to wake up to two very black eyes but I didn't thank goodness. Gosh why do boys have to play so rough GEEZE! other than that I am going to go try to get paint to start repainting my kitchen cabinets because the paint is peeling. I'm very excited!

BARGAINS!!!

I love bargains and found a great one today. I had to run to the family dollar store to get craft sticks for the little things I'm making for my Music and Movement class. Well as we approched they had 6 carts full of Halloween stuff marked down 75% (that's just exciting in itself) I could feel the bargain hunter taking over as I started rumaging crazily through them and found costumes for my boys who love to play dress up all year long. They were only $1.25 WHOO HOOO The boys have not taken them off sense we got home. Best $2.50 I've ever spent.

SOCCER

Soccer was very fun this year...Hayden really came out of his shell and I was so proud of him. He had a great coach and we will miss her a lot. Hayden was a great goaly this year. He has informed us all that he wants to try any sport he can.
Basketball started saturday. I was worried for him because he didn't really understand the game yet. But instead of giving up he went home and practiced and practiced and practiced some more. Our neighbor Lisa let us borrow there basaketball hoop which was great! Hayden practied for hours making 99 baskets he finally came in when he's arms were shaking. I am so glad as a mom to see that determination in my son. Basketball is a sport that is not coming easily and nautrally to him like soccer did. He is making sure though that he will do just as good. He is an amazing boy I couldn't ask for more from him. GO GET 'EM TIGER!

THE THINGS KIDS THINK OF!

Lately my little Brendon has just been full of laughs. It seems everything that comes out of his mouth I can't help but roll on the ground laughing and thinking I have to write this stuff down !! So I decided a good way to do this is my blog that way I can share the laughs and remeber later on down the road.

Here we go........

1. MOM I need to watch my movie you know The Bob......The Bob....The BOB you know the guy that works all the time. (Bob the Builder for anyone who didn't guess that)

2. As I am cleaning there room I asked Brendon to help me clean his closet he looks at me with all seriousness and says mom I promise I'm not going to help you. I promise.

3. The boys were fighting yesterday so I told them to be nice and stop it...Brendon precedes to then push Hayden aas he yells as politley as he can EXCUSE ME!!!!! ( sorry buddy manners do not make pushing okay)

4. This morning he wakes up and says mom my stomache is hurting I'm thinking oh no here comes the flu or something then he says it needs pancakes as he looks up at me and begins to smile....by the way he's fine! little stinker.

5. Yesterday the boys got in trouble for splashing in the bath so I told them they couldn't take a bath today...so Brendon comes in cryiing a little and syaing mommy mommy i'm thinking uh oh did he get hurt...NO he says I'm so cold I think I'm gonna have to take a bath...I'm beginning to think this kid runs the show around here!! LOL

Well hope you enjoyed my Brendon stories he's always there for you when you need cheering up!

Brendon's Storytime

PUMPKINS PUMPKINS

The boys had a great time carving there pumpkins. Hayden felt very proud because he got to do his own this year and then in true little brother fashion Brendon went outside and popped all the joining parts to the face out so now there is just one big hole! OOPPSSS! Poor Hayden.

We started going to the playgroup and it was really really fun...it is a great group of girls! I am so excited for Heather to come home so she can come to. I am really liking Emmett. I feel like I am finding my nitch in life. I love working with the kids and making great friendships with so many people. I never would've dreamed I would be doing all this in my life. I guess all things happen for a reason and you never just end up somewhere out of pure luck. Timing is everything! And I am so glad it brought us here.

Soccer is almost over so I need to get the camera there with me so I can post some pictures of our amazing soccer player! I am so proud of him this year he really broke out of his shell. Basketball practice started tonight but we have a concert at the library with Miss Elaine, she is Hayden and Brendon's music teacher and she is the most loving women I have ever met!!! We just love her! Hayden and Brendon are going to sing Johnny Cash songs and then play the piano they are very very excited! I will be singing a chorus of one of my songs with Roman. I hope it goes good we just started working on this one so we have only practiced it maybe 3 times. So we'll see. I am very lucky to have tons of talent and help around me though! I will let you know how it goes and record the boys and post it. It should be cute.

Brendon is in this new stage of talking none stop and he is the boss of everyone! He read me a book for an hour last night it was so darling I can't believe how smart he is. It was a baby animal book so he pointed to each page and said the animal and it is a very long book! He reminds me of myself I can clearly remember doing the same thing when I was a kid and I'm sure there a few people out there that can vouge for it! Well I better keep the day going or I will fall behind and that is NOO fun!
