my cowboy
Well remember that cowboy hat. I'm convinced it has magical powers and takes over whoever puts it on there head. At least that is what happens to my Brendon when he puts it on......it all started with a simple trip to town...Brendon wanted to wear his cowboy hat...I thought sure no problem boy was I mistaken....We get to the post office. Brendon gets out he is supposed to hold my hand in parking lots he knows the drill so I go for his hand and he informs that he can't hold his mom's hand he is a cowboy! So I let him walk in correction when Brendon is a cowboy this now means he doesn't walk he gallops because he is riding his horse well if your riding your horse you have to rope something and yell (Brendon's version) WEE HAAA WEEE HAAAA!!! I'm a Towboy!!! So here we are a sight to see walking into the post office met by a lady opening the door laughing saying oh how cute....At this point it was still pretty cute....He never slows down and gallops all the way to the desk with me trying to keep up with a very heavy big box in my hands. He gallops all the way to the desk pulls him self up to the lady and yells I'm a Towboy!!! She laughs oh how cute and it was still pretty cute I'm thinking he will stay by the desk with me like usual...oh no he then jumps down starts galloping back around through people at this point I'm getting very embarrassed as I chase my little cowboy around this desk and he is loving it going even faster of course yelling WEEE HAA WEE HAA at the top of his lungs while I ignore the looks of the poor people in the post office but just wait it gets better!!! I know you were thinking it was pretty good already.. So I get him wrangled in trying to hold on to him while he's wiggling with all his might saying "Mom Mom put me down I'm a Towboy put me down" Come to find out I have to go to the UPS store for my big huge heavy box...So now I am in a predicament I can't put this kid down he will go run out in the street or something and I Have to carry this box...Thank God for my good child Hayden LOL I don't think I could've done 2 meltdowns at the same time...The lady looks at me and my wiggling Brendon and says whoa cowboy you can't ride your horse in the post office...nice try lady he didn't hear a word you said..So here I go I gear up my mom muscles grab this box with one arm squeeze onto the kid with the other and start making my way out the door while all the way Brendon is screaming MOM MOM I'm, a Towboy.,... and he's getting farther and farther down in my grip until by the car I am practically choking him..the only time he stopped screaming was when we passed people coming in the post office and he would yell look I have a Towboy Hat...then continue screaming. OH LORd so here I am the spectacle completely embarrassed half wanting to just laugh the rest wanting to put this child in his bed never to return spank him and take away his birthday Christmas and Thanksgiving...but instead I turned around and said as calmly and seriously as I could "Cowboy Brendon If you ever act like that again anywhere you will never ever ever wear that cowboy hat again. " Needless to say he was very good at the rest of the stores though he did still have to gallop and yell wee haa wee haaa I'm a towboy and inform everyone around him he has a cowboy hat he did hold my hand and listen..Kids can be so embarrassing but at least at the end of the day I have something to laugh about for a long long long time!!! FYI We will be using the drive through drop box for a while at the post office.

tear jerker
I have had this poem sense I was 14 it is a poem my Grandma sent my mom after my Uncle (her son) died.....it has always made me think..and I vowed to myself at that young age to always give my kids all I can while I can. I guess that is why it hurt to hear him say all I ever do is clean. This poem always makes me have a reality check.
To my son
My hands were busy through the day
I didn't have much time to play
the little games you asked me to.
I didn't have much time for you.
I'd wash your clothes, I'd sew and cook
But when you'd bring your picture book
and ask me please to share your fum
I'd say " a little later son"
I'd tuck you in all safe at night
and hear your prayers turn out the light
then tip-toe softly to the door...
I wish I'd stayed a minute more.
For life is short the years rush past
A little boy grows up so fast.
No longer is he at your side
His precious secrets to confide
The picture books are put away
there are no longer games to play
No good-night kiss, no prayers to hear..
That all belongs to yesteryear.
My hands once busy now are still
the days are long and hard to fill
I wish I could go back and do
The little things you asked me too.

one of those days!!!!
Wow beginning to wonder if I am doing a good job at all......do you ever have days where you ask yourself if you really are a good mom? Are you really cut out? Do you have days where you think I am completely failing these little people who depend on me for there emotional and physical health. I think "I am the person who is supposed to shape these two people into well intentioned functions adults who know right from wrong have manners are loving and kind and all this good stuff I am supposed to equip them with the ability to cope with disappointment, stress, not getting there way people bothering them and all else that life throws at them"...it sometimes feels unbearable how in the world am I supposed to do this when I am not even sure if I have this figured out strike that when I KNOW I don't have this all figured out and on top of it I am supposed to be a wife and try to be myself. I'm not really sure where I am going with all this but I needed to get it out. I absolutely LOVE being a mom I just want to make sure I am a good one. I think I am for the most part (we all have our moments) but there are days when everything seems to be falling apart. One kid is crying one is telling you that you don't spend enough time with them and that all you do is clean and it breaks your heart but then I think what do you mean we spend all morning one on one with school we have lunch and little times all through the day and I have to clean...this place falls apart every time I turn around. What am I to do! I never wanted to be the mom that cleaned instead of spending time with the kids. it breaks my heart to think that is how he feels. Then they say all you do is yell well yeah I finally yell after I've asked you nicely and in every creative way I could think of at least ten times!!! oh boy please don't tell me I'm alone in this......what to do what to do. It's just hard when you think your working your hardest and suddenly you feel you are failing and you don't know where to start maybe starting is crying by yourself on the floor LOL okay thank you for listening what a day well I need to go hug my boys and try even harder to make sure I can somehow pull myself together enough to attempt to be the mom I want to be for them and give them all I can to equip them for this life.
cleaning up

We sure love that family!! We had a great weekend!! Cleaned up the farm which always feels great. Stevan rented a tractor and got a pile of rocks for our drain field moved, the cows pen, and the boy goat pen
cleaned out. He graded the driveway out so there aren't as many bumps which is always nice...it is amazing what a man on a tractor can get done!! I'm glad I have a handy husband who can do these things. The boys had a blast playing on our big dirt pile where we pile everything . As you can see from the pictures you have to love country boys!! I sure do. Every little kid should have a memory of "sledding" down a dirt pile I know I do.

When we bought this place it had never really been cleaned up at least not for a very very long time the barns were buried inside and out with at least 2 and a half to 3 feet full of poop and hay and straw just layered you couldn't even break through it with a shovel so it has been a process getting all of this cleaned out. Each time we clean out with the tractor especially that first time the difference is amazing...I couldn't imagine letting my animals live in those
barns like it was before YUCK!! So Stevan and I vowed to never let it be like that again. Besides it's fun working as a family together to make your home a little nicer. I'm including some pictures of our place that beautiful mountain behind us is Squaw Butte We love that mountain and the view of it from t
he pasture. Pictures just don't do it justice. The other picture is looking up towards our house from the pasture and you can see our 2 big trees in the front yard. The little white house in between them is our cozy little home
. We then worked in the garden and just had a nice weekend together. Everyone was very tired by the end and I think still today. We all fell asleep as soon as we hit the floor literally here is Brendon with his "best friend" Nemo. He loves this blanket he drags it everywhere with him from breakfast till dinner. Of course he had to become attached to a huge comforter LOL! What a great time of life!

Labor day weekend
Well I may have to add on to this later but we have been having to much fun not to share!! We started out on Friday with a surprise from Stevan that he didn't have to work WHOO HOOO!! So we are so grateful for an even extra long weekend. We went into town and did shopping and that sort of thing returned to the scene of the crime (our wedding) lol while I did my dad's bills...then we headed back home to pretty much turn around and drive back to Nampa for dinner at the Olive Garden (yum!!!!) with Stevan's parents they took us out for our anniversary. on the way there we were met with a HUGE dust storm mixed with heavy heavy rain it was kinda scary YIKES!!

Saturday started out nice with a beautifully cooked banana pancake that Brendon made with me I love cooking with my kids and they love love love cooking! They are really good at it..hey I have to give them something to impress the ladies with later on and a man in the kitchen is pretty c
ute! We then had a combined effort of cleaning the house which always makes me happy. My best friend Sara came over to go bike riding and just hang out...well when she got here we made clam chowder from Mo's restaurant while we made salsa from my garden which was DELICIOUS! we ate so much we had to make 2 batches (oops) and then I can't figure out why my pants don't fit. Well then we decided it was time for a bike ride. My bike is actually Stevan's and is very uncomfortable to ride especially with a baby on the back. but I love to ride my bike so I make due.. well my wonderful husband said go to King's and buy the best bike you can get!! I love you and happy anniversary!!!! Let me tell you it made my day...on top of it he kept the kids and let Sara and I go and have an adventure by ourselves at the store..let me tell you it
was an adventure..first we get back there and we are trying to get this bike down mind you both of us, together, laughing so hard because we can't get one little bike down so we go look for help and this little lady comes over and takes the bike down like it's a feather needless to say we both felt a little dumb I have no clue how she did that! So then of course the kid in me comes out and I have to ride my bike to the cash register...and when I get there this old man says nice bike Sara is just standing back there laughing her butt off good times!!!! When we got home my wonderful husband fixed my bike all up and put the baby seat on the new one and we went for a good 4 mile ride felt great...when we got back we decided to make brats and drink beer after all what is a brat without beer. =)

It was Sara's first time on a dirt bike and she caught on very quickly we were all going to go ride our dirt bikes up to Silver City the next day but we drank a lot of beers and nobody exactly got up on time ooops we will make up for it a different time.
