update
Hello haven't blogged in a while and thought I would just let you know what is going on. Basketball went well and Hayden had a great end of the year party. We got the meat back from our cows and it was oh my gosh delicious!!! We had a nice bbq with Sara, Rob and the neighbors. Soccer season is in full swing now and Hayden is doing so great!! He almost scored about 3 times in his first game yesterday...he was very proud and so was I! Basketball helped get him get a little more aggressive. Brendon is trying to ride the dirt bike now and having a blast. Next weekend we are going to the freestyle motocross which should be lots of fun with the boys! But may give them some not good ideas to try at home LOL We are anxiously waiting for more baby goats! any day now geez!!! I can feel the baby move lots more lately and Stevan and Hayden got to feel it for the first time last night it was AMAZING I was so glad I could share what I'm feeling with them. I love this part of pregnancy. speaking of parts of pregnancy the part I am not enjoying is my slippery brain. I feel like I would forget my head if I didn't have it attached I catch myself actually 3-4 times day just standing there saying out loud what was I trying to do what was I trying to do cause I honestly can't remember what I went to the kitchen for. I am just going to cling to my calendar for the next bit cause i need !!

RIP my little George....
Life on the farm is sometimes hard but it is life.......and death is a part we all must deal with. This morning I went to give my little George his bottle and found him dead. Luckily my dad was on his way to pick up my brother Gus so he and Hayden dug a hole while we gathered rocks for him......we all got to say good-bye. At least in his short life he brought us much joy and I hope we did the same for him.

A little tale about George

This is our new friend George. He has had a rough two days. And no I do not usually let goats in our house. There is a very good reason. Let me start at the beginning.....We went grocery shopping on Saturday and we got home about 1:00. We were outside and I was looking at my goat Clementine because I knew she was getting close to having babies. Well I thought she started acting funny so I continued to watch and was pretty convinced that she was in labor. My neighbor Lisa then yelled over that her goat had had babies so I went over and seen them. Very Very cute!! Anyway we came back to watch mine be born. Everything seemed normal at first but soon she started pushing and would stop for a while finally she got the first one out (George) but she didn't' attempt to clean him off or anything and he wasn't moving so Lisa said quick jump the fence and help him. So I cleaned his face off brought him up to mom but she didn't do much he also sounded like he had fluid in his lungs and just limp. So we had Hayden run in for towel and I began massaging him and getting him going...I looked down to see the next baby coming butt first NOT GOOD...So I gave George to Lisa who got him completely cleaned and the fluid sound out of him...I helped pull the second out (a beautiful buck) mom again didn't seem interested so we cleaned him off....then #3 came great little girl no problems besides mom's lack of interest....go her some grain she perked up and began taking care of babies... Well George never got the hang of things wouldn't suck couldn't really get up....About 8:00 I decided I needed to help him so we brought him in the house bottle feed him and he did great... Sunday I brought him back out to mom. She took care of him but he still wouldn't nurse. oh well I figured I'll bottle feed hope he gets the hang of feeding from mom but if not at least she can take care of him out of my house.

This morning I go out to feed and check on everyone and I hear a horrible baaing from the barn...I found George smashed behind a bucket and the wall..freezing and almost stiff....didn't look good I quickly picked him up and hauled him in the house pretty certain I was going to watch this goat die....I couldn't hear a heartbeat he was barely breathing...I don't know how he got the strentgh to baa. He's eyes were rolling around and I'm trying to hold it together but ended up balling my head off calling my mom to see what I should do...she didn't have any suggestions so I did my best I massaged him and tried to keep him stimulated and the blood flowing. I put the blow dryer on him and forced what I could of a warm bottle down him to try and get his temp back up....I mean he was cold his pee was like ice water. I really don't' know how he was alive. Stevan called me and he said to boil water and put hot towels in a plastic bag and put that on him..my neighbor Kaitlyn and friend Kerri came over and we just rapped him up and prayed for the best....After about 1/2 an hour with the hot towels he finally started to perk up it was the most intense 3 hours of my life....I happily report we still have our George he is in there baaing away!! What a beautiful sound. I think his mom rejected him in the night and smashed him in the wall so we will now glady be his parents..The boys are having so much fun so I am though I will be glad to move him back to the barn I'm just so thankful he pulled through...He is now our little miracle!
