Dad's visit and the cherry festival

Well I believe my last post started out with where did May go and here I am saying where did June go?? well June was an eventful month full of wonderful memories. My dad and uncle made a trip out here, Brendon turned 5 and we had the Cherry Festival it was so so great! We'll start off with the Cherry festival we had my neighbors niece with us to enjoy the cherry zone activities. The cherry zone is full of free activities for the kids through the whole cherry festival. They made stick horses, did pinatas, had goldfish races, learned about smoky bear with the forest rangers, learned about insects, had a scavenger race, and did lots of craft projects. As you can see these were very very full days but they were fun. This mom is glad the cherry festival is only once a year. On Friday they have the children's parade so the kids rode there scooters in that. My neighbors mom bought the kids decorating supplies and we made there scooters look like cherry trees. They won 3rd place it was so neat to watch them. Afterward I asked Brendon if he wanted to do a parade again and he said, "no" I asked, "Why, is it to long?" He replied, "No it's to slow." LOL I guess we need to enter races instead. Saturday the boys and I entered the cherry bake off so we spent the whole morning with the neighbors baking our butts off. I made Cherry Bruchetta, Hayden made Cherry cobbler, Sydnee made upside down cherry cake and Brendon made cherry Bon Bon cookies. To my surprise I won the cherry bake off it was so amazing!! What got me even more though was Hayden winning 1st place in the youth desserts I
cried a little I was so proud of him. He won a $20 gift certificate to Cold Mountain Creek restaurant one of our favs here in town which he took us to the next morning. The kids also rode rides that day and had a blast. Pete and Betty came out and had dinner with us there. Stevan didn't make this year due to work. It was so weird to not have him there. Here are some pics.

Wesstin thoroughly enjoying his first carmel apple. And yes I was covered in it he was covered in it and I had my pic taken for the paper covered in Carmel. I know really nice. From the pic it looks like I enjoyed that Carmel apple as well LOL

Here are Hayden and Sydnee doing the goldfish races.
And my boys who are, dare I say this to my heart, almost to big for the car rides anymore!!! *sobs of a mothers heart*

Onto the next adventure my dad and uncles visit. We had so much fun!! We spent the majority of our time exploring the mountains it was so great! The first place we looked for was Pearl which is an old Ghost town or at least used to be we sadly found out it was burnt down because of teenagers partying up there. We drove around back by the butte behind our house, We went to Silver City which is a Ghost town, we also went to haggerman and sat in the hot springs which was my favorite place. Besides the fact of me getting us lost and driving the wrong way for 20 minutes oops and Wesstin screaming in the car they were great adventures. Stevan was able to get the day off to bring us to Silver City we hiked around and it was beautiful. They also got to be here for Brendon's 5th Birthday which was Pirate themed. My neighbors threw a bbq for him we had a pirate ship pinata to go with a pirate ship cake. Afterwards my dad and Uncle Brian bbq'd a tenderloin wrapped in a pork loin wrapped in bacon stuffed with peppers mushrooms, and onions CAN YOU SAY YUMMY!! Sara and Rob came over and played some games. It was a grand day. As always visits go by so fast I can't believe its already come and gone. My dad put the tire swing back up and we tried with all our might to get Wess to walk but he was having non of it. Little Stinker. The boys up at Silver City

The Idaho historical Museum in Boise we spent a day there going to the zoo and a trolley ride.
The Haggerman hot springs. With tall the rain the river washed into the hot springs but man was it beautiful definitely want to go here again. When they say Hot they mean HOT! as my dad and I found out after scorching our feet walking across.
Wesstin had breakfast with Grandpa every morning. This morning was special because he made Green eggs and Ham which he and Brendon had been talking about for about a year now.
Up at Black Canyon Dam. the water was just ripping thorough.

I love this pic they call this the man with three heads and the world's longest chin. I sure love my dad and am so thankful he came out. Now we just need to make it back there some day. So as I said June was a a very full very fun month now we'll see what July holds. We start swimming lessons Monday, my mom is thinking of coming out the end of July we have birthdays and anniversary's coming up and school starts August 17th already I think I better slow down and enjoy each day cause they go by far to fast.
