Well we had a great holiday season. We hosted New year this year. We had the Vaughn's over, both sets. Troy's brother Chad and his wife Heather are part of our New Year crew. We always have so much fun together as if you can't tell. Joe showed up later in the night which added even more fun to the celebration. We played apples to apples all night. I LOVE THAT GAME!! If your looking for a good party game to add to the collection I highly recommend it.We did a 'redneck" theme this year. dressing up is always fun.
We had Christmas at my mom and Joe's house. It was a really great celebration. My Aunt Jackie and Jody sent us out big tubs of presents which were fun to open together. My dad spoiled our entire family this year. The boys got such great gifts. The big KAT sent them some money and they went and got all the fruit and veggies they could want. I love that that is one of my kids favorite things to do. All in all it's just been a great season of thankfulness around here. As fun as the holidays are I have been working hard on keeping the spirit of Christmas just a way of life. It should stretch through the whole year with love for each other and charity in our hearts at all times. It is great to see my kids embrace that. I'm so proud of my boys.
Well with the holidays past us we are back to school. It is nice to have break but nice to have routine as well. I really enjoyed being able to have time to catch up with friends though and squeeze in some long over due play dates. With school it is so hard to get away.
New years Goals I'm calling them this year.
1. Become strong in myself and sure of what I believe and who I am.
2. Learn history, to help protect our future and be able to pass it on to my kids.
3. Live up to my full capabilities and truly do the best I can every day. I think as a stay at home mom it is easy to let things slide or procrastinate. I want to really work on doing my best every single day.
4. Teach my children by example and truly have the morals I want them to have.
5. Get in shape so I can go hunting this year and Stevan doesn't have to pack me off the mountain (=
6. Remember to be thankful for EVERYTHING I have. In good or bad times
7. continue to clean the house out and life and get down to just what we really need. Stop getting things just cause there a deal.
8. Get out of the house way more as a family and experience life.
We went shooting with the Vaughn's on Sunday. It was so much fun. We bought a little clay thrower which is really hard to do by the way unless your Stevan or Troy. I loved getting more comfortable with my shotgun it feels good to know you could load it and shoot it all by yourself and feel confident in doing so. The kid had a blast with there twenty two's and Hayden even tried the shotgun I was very proud of him. This is something I want to do more of with the family.
