memorial day weekend

Well the weather did it's best to get us down but we didn't let it. When your given rain........ummmm.......have fire pits LOL We were supposed to go camping with the Vaughns but it was miserable and a bit dangerous as far as weather so we brought the camping to us. We had fire pits at our house Friday and Saturday complete with crokay in the rain and dark. It was so much fun. Sunday we headed to the mountains and went mushroom picking with the Vaughns. It was our first time ever going. I'm so thankful for the Vaughn's they share so much with us. Life before them seems like it was really boring. They invited us over afterward and we had a mushroom feast. YUMMY!! Did I mention how it rained and our kids are such troopers and had such a blast anyway. We had a picnic in the mountains in the rain. In the end we we're soaked and smiling. We are so lucky to have such good friends that we have so much in common with. Monday we took the kids fishing at the pond. Which it rained again. but we just fished on (= This was a weekend we'll all remember. The kids caught about 20 tadpoles, they're giant ones!! That pond is full of them. Which Troy pointed out must mean there are not many big bass in there. Wesstin got to catch his first fish he loved it!.
Tuesday Kerri and I started water aerobics. She does them every year. I always wanted to but Wess was to little to make it work. This year worked out perfect though. They have a life guard watch the kids in the little pool while we mom's get to work our butts off. It is so great. I'm so thankful for that little set up. I want to be fit and strong this summer. Spiritually and physically.

Gus Graduates!

CONGRATULATIONS TO MY BROTHER GUS!!

I'm so proud of him for his accomplishment. It was so good to see him again and get to be there for one of his big days of life. He is so special, sweet, kind and amazingly driven. We are all looking forward to spending lots of time with him this summer and taking road trips to visit him at college. I'm just so happy for him. Gus is one of those people who does what he sets his mind to.
