camping and catch up

Catch up has become my new normal....UGH!!!!! I just keep reminding myself it won't always be like this just enjoy the moment. Which I am working hard to do. Adding a new baby always teaches me something new about myself.  Trust me I have a lot to learn. I've had just a touch of postpartum this time but I think it's getting better. Nothing bad just enough that I know this is not normal for me. Triggered by being overwhelmed imagine THAT!! I love my kids and our life we have choose but boy it makes long days sometimes. My perspective thought is always how grateful I am to have this time with my kids and that everyone is healthy. My mom always helps me settle back down and listens to all my crazy worries for my kids which every mom has I'm sure. I tell you having a teenager is an experience I don't think I'll ever be prepared for. It is super neat don't get me wrong and he is a great kid. Last night he had his radio going and his light  on in the garage working on his go cart motor and I had to stop and almost cry a moment thinking WOW  this is my first baby. Here he is working on motors growing into this man I'm so proud of. In a few more years he will be working on the motor of a car I'm sure and it just mind boggled me how fast time flies. He also has another project going with animals. He got a milk goat from our friend and is freezing the milk to raise a jersey calf on for some extra money. So proud of him. He has been working on his barn and does so much around here. He can do all the irrigation and help with dishes and his baby brother. I hope it helps him be a rounded out man.
Brendon is in hunter's Ed right now. Tonight he has his final test. If he passes he will be heading up with Stevan and Hayden to hunt in October. Brendon informed me that he would like to stay 10 it is the perfect age he decided. He's not looking forward to becoming a teenager and getting his big man muscles (= Gosh I Love that kid! He like to have deep talks lately which I thoroughly enjoy. He has a way of finding time for us to be alone and just starts asking questions and tells me all kinds of secret thoughts only moms get to be confided in about. It's the best part of my job. He LOVES Jace oh my goodness. Every morning they have special time together. It  is so sweet. We were out in the garden and he was working  and I said I sure notice how big your getting how hard of a worker you are. He said yep well I'm another year older I'm just growing up one day at time trying to enjoy my life.......That's my Bren.
Wesstin is in the in between stage right now. 6 is a hard age I'm finding. The worst thing you can do to him is tell him he is little. He is working so hard to become one of the big boys. He's an extremely deep thinker and wows me with  what is in his head. One day he told me his entire life plan. What kind of wife he wants to how he'll arrange his house. It was so sweet. He is always there with a plan. He sings a lot too and is our entertainer. Very intense though. I have to scratch my head sometimes at how I'm going to mother that one. That's another time I'm glad I have Stevan he helps balance me which is what a good husband does. Sibling rivalry though has been running rampant lately don't know if it is school starting or what. Everyone knows how to push each others buttons and I don't know how t calm it all down sometimes so then we have naps! (= I know, the 13 year old gets mad at me especially! Sorry guys.
Jace is rolling over from belly to back like a pro and can hold his head up and try to grab things when on his belly. He is in 6 month cloths already and is somewhere between 16-20 pounds. I love this kid let me tell you. He is so calm and kind. He loves to talk and coo and laugh. He has a great disposition. I"M SO GLAD!! I really really needed that.  Other than that we are getting ready for fall and winter BLAH!!!!!!!!!! I really don't want to have winter but at least we'll have Jace learning to crawl to entertain us through it. Stevan got a wall tent with a wood stove for hunting so we tested it out the other weekend. Stevan got a THUR and FRI off so we headed up to our favorite spot just our family which we  haven't done in a long time. It was so great I really do love my life and family. We're not perfect (who is) but we have fun and we try hard.
